Cursive T
t is taller than the short letters but shorter than l, and its crossbar is added last rather than first. A cursive t is a tall-ish letter, and it hands over to the next letter low.
This is the same renderer the generator uses. Open it with t already filled in to change size, rows and guides, then print.
How to write a cursive t
- Start just below the top line and sweep down to the baseline.
- Retrace up to the midline and continue a short distance above it.
- Retrace back down the same path and exit to the right at the baseline.
A t sits in the tall-ish zone. Capital T starts with a loop at the top left, crosses right along the top line, and drops one stem to the midline.
Joining t to the next letter
t is taller than the short letters but shorter than l, and it hands over at the baseline. ta, te, tt.
Where it usually goes wrong
The cross stroke is drawn before the stem is finished, which leaves a gap. Finish the stem and the exit first, then go back for the bar.
Words to practise after the letter
Once the single letter holds its shape, put it into short words where it appears once: to, the, little. Type any of them into the generator above and it will lay out eight ruled rows of tracing for you.
